The Finance NextGen Program is an Airbus Defence & Space-wide development program. This program is designed to identify and develop talented Leaders for the Airbus Finance Community who will contribute significantly towards achieving our business goals. The Finance NextGen Program - sponsored by Airbus Defence & Space' CFO - enables its participants to enhance financial know-how and expertise, combined with further learning in management and leadership competencies.

The mission of the program:

Fostering and deepening participants’ financial knowledge and expertise on the Airbus world of Finance, enlarging the scope to the international financial context

Linking formal learning with rotating, real-business project assignments

Increasing participants’ project management and leadership competencies

Encouraging networking, job shadowing, mobility and cross-cultural experiences

Mentorship from a member of the Finance Top Management

This Program consists of two assignments in two different countries. Each assignment lasts for a period of two years. They are combined with off-the-job modules, designed to strengthen participant’s management and financial competencies.

Within the Defence and Space Engineering Controlling Team (TFOS) main responsibilities are:

The jobholder supports full financial reporting of Engineering cost base for the Kapis 1123. In your role you will support for the planning, analysis, reporting and consolidation of the cost center budgets, workload and capex, working closely with each HO department.

The jobholder acts as a Business partner, supporting Engineering Management and provides inputs on all economic and financial aspects of engineering cost base.

To support other controllers in analysis, investigations, data automation and ad-hoc requests

To support the Engineering Controlling community (TFO) in transnational harmonization projects and ensure common ways of working

To contribute to savings/improvements projects

2. Main activities

Support the Head of Engineering Controlling with the financial piloting of industrial activities and economic related topics and assist in the delivery of the consolidated financial reporting (define, harmonize and ensure consistency and compliance, incl. tools).

Produce a consolidated reporting and analysis within a heterogeneous environment with several stakeholders; ensure full visibility of cost performance vs budget to the Head of Engineering Controlling and engineering teams’ leaders, in parallel, make the common reporting a success, taking care of the quality of the data and of the improvement/automation of the template.

Support the introduction, implementation and consolidation of planning, budgeting and forecasting procedures.

Drive the yearly hourly rates computation. Define and challenge the cost base per department. Ensure the consistency of the data entered into the SAP.

Support the budget adherence and recurring cost improvements, contribute to improvement cost base. Propose and coordinate mitigation actions if needed to support discussion and decision- making at management level.

3. Outputs

The jobholder implements transnational reports and processes. Recommendation for decision making.

The jobholder ensures the full financial visibility for all the processes through the implementation of new transnational tools supported by local inputs.

Supporting the measurement of business performance via collection, consolidation and synthesis of performance indicators. Manage performance through root cause analysis, risks/opportunities identification, recommendations in order to enable decision making.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

Educated to honors degree or equivalent in mathematics, sciences, finance or business from a major University or Business School.

Ability to think analytically is important for this financial role, therefore a high level of academic achievement can be more important than the specific subjects studied.

High proficiency with MS Excel. Highly numerate and computer literate. Financially aware with high business partnering acumen.

Critical thinking & ability to constructively challenge the operational business. Excellent team working skills.

Good communication skills — an ability to make finance important to non-finance people and to make complex issues understandable.

Experience required (e.g. work experience / clubs / societies / charity work / hobbies etc.): International Work Experience highly desired.

Demonstration of a strong work ethic is essential.

Hobbies ad/or extra curricular activities demonstrating teamwork / entrepreneurial spirit / digital mindset/ global business awareness would be advantageous.

Languages: English negotiation level + at least another language.
