job description:

The joholder (d/f/m) will work as Buyer Furnished Equipment (BFE) Management Support. The mission of the team is to ensure on-time and on-quality selection, development, production and delivery of cabin BFE purchased directly by the Airline and delivered to Airbus for installation prior to aircraft delivery. The product scope includes Seats, Inflight Entertainment, Emergency Equipment, and all other BFE equipment from a worldwide supplier base for all airline customers and lessors. The BFE Manager is a unique role which implies interfacing with both the Airline Customer as well as the BFE supplier and the jobholder will be supporting the team in all aspects of the management of BFE equipment and all related data management topics.

  • Lead, drumbeat and secure the End-to-End BFE management process from Customer HoV (Head of Version) Kick Off Meeting until delivery of the last aircraft of the customized version
  • Ensure the on-time and on-quality releases of the BFE lists (Required Part Numbers, Quantities, Date and Place of Delivery) to the Customers to secure Customer Purchase Orders in line with aircraft deliveries needs
  • Secure on-time BFE ordering by the Airline and/or Lessor customers
  • Identify and assess any commercial, contractual, certification or industrial risk potentially impacting the development, the supply or the quality of BFE products, and if any, set up the associated mitigation actions and monitor them in liaison with other functions, escalating as needed to the Customer, Suppliers and internally
  • Ensure the on-time and on-quality deliveries of BFEs and support the Airbus Engineering and FAL teams, for HoV and rebuilds
  • Monitor Supplier Performance and provide weekly reports on the BFE development projects
  • Manage (or contribute to) value-adding projects or strategic initiatives to improve BFE Management

personal requirements:

  • High-tuned communication, presentation & influencing skills towards different Management levels - internally and externally
  • Team player with multi-cultural awareness
  • Autonomous, pro-active spirit, pragmatic mindset with strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to summarize complex industrial situations in a clear and concise manner

education / studies:

  • Aircraft Engineering (at least a Bachelor's degree) or
  • Engineering (at least a Bachelor's degree) or
  • Industrial Engineering (at least a Bachelor's degree) or
  • Supply Chain/Logistics (at least a Bachelor's degree)

professional experience:

  • Supplier Management (at least 3 years)
  • Aerospace (at least 3 years)
  • Product Development (at least 2 years)
  • Supply Chain/Logistics (at least 3 years)

IT:

  • Taksy/Gesy/Tesy at least in-depth application knowledge
  • Google Workspace

knowledge:

  • Project management (at least good knowledge)
  • Risk management (at least good knowledge)
  • Knowledge of data analysis/data management is an advantage

language skills:

  • At least proficient in German
  • At least fluent in English
  • French or Spanish are an advantage
